I just had a "close call" in the shop. My fault, I was cutting a couple of pieces of wood on the sliding compound saw and didn't bother to clamp them first. I actually THOUGHT about clamping them first, but then though "naw - it's just a quick cut". More like a quick way to loose a body part. Fortunately the wood didn't take my fingers with it when it bucked under the saw. Lesson learned.
Wood working is NOT for impatient people. Everything you do requires 5 or more minutes of set up, even just a "quick cut". Skip a step and you are inviting disaster. So I must practice patience before I practice any wood working.
OK I just needed a little break from the near disaster.
